Surrey's transit landscape is changing fast: the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain extension (under construction, completion 2028) adds 8 new stations along Fraser Highway — every station has bench-seating and handrail spec lines that include skate stoppers. King George Station and Surrey Central are the existing high-volume sites; the new extension multiplies the footprint.
Climate is Zone 4 — +3.7°C average winter, 41 cm annual snowfall, 0.6 m frost depth. Like Vancouver, corrosion risk is very high due to coastal salt-air. 316 marine-grade stainless is mandatory; 316L low-carbon variant is preferred for transit deployments where salt-spray accumulation is severe.

Standard procurement runs through British Columbia provincial portals and the city's tender system with the $50K direct-purchase / $50K+ public RFP threshold. Default spec is 304 stainless — low chloride exposure means no marine-grade upgrade is needed unless proximity to brine sources changes the calculation.
We respond to Surrey RFPs within 5 business days with stamped engineering, AODA / accessibility-code conformance letters, and bonded-contractor accreditation. Install crews carry $5M general liability. Warranty: 10 years on coatings, lifetime on 316L marine-grade structural elements.
