The trade-off: maximum coastal corrosion from Inner Harbour salt-air. 316L marine-grade stainless is mandatory for every outdoor install, and we recommend professional re-cleaning every 24 months to maintain the passive oxide layer that prevents pitting.
The BC Legislative Assembly grounds are a provincial heritage site under BC Heritage Branch designation. Installations require provincial heritage approval plus Government House liaison for Legislature-perimeter work. We coordinate these submissions in advance.
The Inner Harbour causeway runs from the Empress Hotel to the Legislature — continuous heritage hardscape with stone benches, granite ledges, and architectural railings that all need bronze-patina deterrents. Bastion Square is similarly heritage-designated. Government Street's retail strip is the highest-density boutique vandalism zone in the city.
